Water Damage Mold Growth

A condo owner in Los Angeles, CA called SERVPRO of Crescenta Valley/East Glendale one week after his home experienced a water loss from a neighboring unit’s water heater and a second from a toilet backing up. Upon inspection we found that the flooring and affected wall was still wet and suspected there was probably mold growth. SERVPRO of Crescenta Valley/East Glendale first set up containment and then began removing the cabinetry, dishwasher and refrigerator in the kitchen so we could attend to the affected wall. We also set up dehumidifiers to stabilize the environment overnight. SERVPRO of Crescenta Valley/East Glendale removed the damaged flooring and set up machines to dry the wet subfloor beneath. Next, after finding mold inside of the plaster walls, we removed the damaged materials and wire scrubbed and disinfected the studs. The condo owner was so pleased the mess was finally clean and was thrilled at how quickly SERVPRO of Crescenta Valley/East Glendale was able to solve his problem!
